Our Story

Thomas Kearney, owner of Leading Edge Machine & Design, has always had a need for speed. When he was young, he and his family traveled the country racing JR. Dragsters, dirt go-carts, and sprint cars.

After tooling up at Wyotech, Thomas worked at some of the best custom car shops in the industry. There he honed his skills and developed a keen eye for style and function.

In 2020, after 12 years of working for Pinkees Rod Shop, Thomas founded Leading Edge Maching & Design. Armed with a HAAS VM3 CNC machine, LEMD has designed and machined parts for cars competing for Ridler and Slonaker awards, while developing a range of off the shelf machined parts for hot rods and muscle cars.

Thomas aims to build the best machine shop in the industry, designing and machining parts others can't. While housed in Pinkees Rod Shop, LEMD takes advantage of the wealth of knowledge that they possess and also works with the top automotive artists in the country to help design parts for the discerning customer.
